Tryptophan serves as the initial compound for the biological synthesis of various indole derivatives, including the hormone melatonin, the neurotransmitter serotonin, vitamin PP, and a number of others. Other beneficial effects include lowering blood pressure, short-term improvements in cognition and memory, and better sleep. In addition, L-theanine reverses the stimulant effects of caffeine.

GABA

Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA, 4-aminobutanoic acid, γ-aminobutyric acid, GABA, Aminalon, Gaballon) is a four-carbon non-protein amino acid found in bacteria, plants, and vertebrates.
