RENOBRAIN SM - peptide neuroprotective preparation

RENOBRAIN SM is used in the complex therapy of cerebrovascular accidents, traumatic brain injury and its consequences, encephalopathies of various origins, cognitive impairments (memory and thinking disorders), acute and chronic encephalitis and encephalomyelitis, epilepsy, asthenic conditions (suprasegmental vegetative disorders), reduced ability to learning, delayed psychomotor and speech development in children, various forms of cerebral palsy. 

The preparation contains a complex of low molecular weight water-soluble polypeptide fractions that penetrate the blood-brain barrier directly to nerve cells. The preparation has nootropic, neuroprotective, antioxidant and tissue-specific effects.

NOOTROPIC - improves higher brain functions, learning and memory processes, concentration, stability under various stressful conditions.

NEUROPROTECTIVE - protects neurons from damage by various endogenous neurotoxic factors (glutamate, calcium ions, free radicals), reduces the toxic effects of psychotropic substances.

ANTIOXIDANT - inhibits lipid peroxidation in neurons, increases the survival of neurons under conditions of oxidative stress and hypoxia.

TISSUE-SPECIFIC - activates the metabolism of neurons of the central and peripheral nervous system, reparative processes, improves the functions of the cerebral cortex and the general tone of the nervous system. 

The mechanism of action of the preparation is due to the activation of peptides of neurons and neurotrophic factors of the brain; optimization of the balance of metabolism of excitatory and inhibitory amino acids, dopamine, serotonin; GABAergic effect; a decrease in the level of paroxysmal convulsive activity of the brain, the ability to improve its bioelectrical activity; preventing the formation of free radicals (products of lipid peroxidation).

Active ingredient: a complex of peptide fractions, with a molecular weight of not more than 10,000 Da, obtained from the cerebral cortex of cattle - 10 mg

Auxiliary substance: glycine - 12 mg

Indications:

In the complex therapy of cerebrovascular accidents, traumatic brain injury and its consequences, encephalopathies of various origins, cognitive impairments (memory and thinking disorders), acute and chronic encephalitis and encephalomyelitis, epilepsy, asthenic conditions (suprasegmental autonomic disorders), reduced learning ability, delays in psychomotor and speech development in children, various forms of cerebral palsy.

Drug interaction:

The use of local anesthetic lidocaine as a solvent for solution preparation in children is associated with an increase in the severity of manifestations of adverse reactions, and therefore its use is not recommended.

Dosage:

The preparation is administered intramuscularly.

Before injection, the contents of the vial are dissolved in 1-2 ml of a 0.5% solution of procaine, water for injection or 0.9% sodium chloride solution (directing the needle to the wall of the vial to avoid foaming) and administered once daily: for adults at a dose of 10 mg of the active substance within 10 days; children with a body weight of up to 20 kg at a dose of 0.5 mg of the active substance / kg, with a body weight of more than 20 kg at a dose of 10 mg of the active substance for 10 days.
If necessary, repeat the course after 3-6 months.

With hemispheric ischemic stroke in the acute and early recovery periods - for adults at a dose of 10 mg of the active substance 2 times a day (morning and afternoon) for 10 days, with a second course after 10 days.

Contraindications for use:

Individual intolerance to the preparation.

Using during pregnancy and during breastfeeding.

The preparation is contraindicated in pregnancy (due to the lack of data from clinical studies). If necessary, the appointment of the preparation during lactation should stop breastfeeding (due to the lack of data from clinical studies).

Special instructions:

When using a 0.5% solution of procaine as a solvent for the preparation of the preparation, you should follow the information on contraindications, precautions and age restrictions set out in the instructions for the use of procaine. The use of local anesthetic lidocaine as a solvent for the preparation of the preparation is not recommended. The vial with the dissolved preparation should not be stored and used after storage. The preparation solution is not recommended to be mixed with other solutions. Features of the action of the preparation at the first admission or when it is canceled are absent. In case of missing an injection, it is not recommended to administer a double dose, but to carry out the next injection as usual on the scheduled day. Special precautions for the destruction of unused preparation are not required. 

Influence on the ability to drive vehicles, mechanisms:

In the event of symptoms of an exciting action (see section "Possible adverse reactions"), the preparation may affect the ability to perform potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions (driving vehicles, working with moving mechanisms, dispatcher work, operator).
