Pharmachologic effect:

Glutoxim® characterizes the ability to initiate redox processes of the formation of disulfide bonds in the structure of extracellular and surface-cellular molecules of a peptide nature. The main components of the pharmacological activity of the drug are increased bone marrow hematopoiesis (the processes of erythropoiesis, leukopoiesis and granulocyt-monocytopoiesis), activation of the phagocytosis system (including under conditions of immunodeficiency states), restoration of the level of neutrophils, monocytes, lymphocytes in the peripheral blood and the functional capacity of tissue macrophages.

The stimulating effect of Glutoxim® on the effector, secretory, excretory and metabolic functions of monocytes/macrophages includes:

• reactions of binding, recognition and presentation of antigenic material, predetermining the subsequent antibody formation and elimination of the pathogen;
• secretion of humoral factors that normalize the development of local and systemic neuroimmunoendocrine reactions in chronic inflammation;

Drug interaction:

Enhances the effect of opioid analgesics. Naloxone blocks the anti-ulcer effect of this drug.

Dosage and administration:

Glutoxim® is administered intravenously, intramuscularly, subcutaneously. Assigned daily for
5 - 40 mg (for 1 course - 50 - 300 mg) depending on the nature of the disease.
For prophylactic purposes, the drug is used intramuscularly daily at a dose of 5-10 mg for
2 weeks.

As part of the complex therapy of tuberculosis, Glutoxim® 60 mg is administered once a day for the first 10 days daily
intramuscularly, for the next 20 days Glutoxim® 60 mg is administered intramuscularly every other day, one injection per day.
If necessary, a second course of treatment is carried out after 1-6 months.

As part of the complex therapy of psoriasis, Glutoxim® is used intramuscularly daily at a daily dose of 10
mg for 15 days, then for another 5 weeks 2 times a week at a daily dose of 10 mg. Only 25 injections per course
treatment.

As a means of accompanying chemotherapy in oncology, Glutoxim® 60 mg is administered subcutaneously for 1.5-2
hours before the use of anticancer drugs. Further, between courses of chemotherapy, Glutoxim® 60 mg is administered
subcutaneously every other day. With the next course of chemotherapy, the regimen of the drug is repeated.

As a means of accompanying radiation therapy, Glutoxim® 60 mg is administered subcutaneously 0.5-1 hour after
the next session of radiation every other day throughout the course of radiation therapy.
Glutoxim® can be administered in the same syringe with water-soluble drugs.

Side effect:

Some patients may experience a slight increase in temperature (up to 37.1° C - 37.5° C),
soreness at the injection site. In case of poor subjective pain tolerance, Glutoxim® is administered
together with 1 - 2 ml of 0.5% novocaine solution.

Contraindications for use:

The use of the drug is contraindicated in cases of individual intolerance, during pregnancy, during lactation.
