LEVOMEKOL 40g - combined antimicrobial ointment

LEVOMEKOL is a combination preparation for local use, has anti-inflammatory (dehydrating) and antimicrobial effects, is active against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms (staphylococci, pseudomonas and intestinal bacteria). Easily penetrates deep into tissues without damaging biological membranes, stimulates regeneration processes. In the presence of pus and necrotic masses, the antibacterial effect is preserved.

Indications:

Infected wounds (including cuts and abrasions) of various localizations (including those infected with mixed microflora) in the first phase of the wound process.

Composition per 1 g of the ointment:

active ingredients - dioxomethyltetrahydropyrimidine (methyluracil) - 40 mg, chloramphenicol - 7.5 mg; excipients - macrogol-1500 - 190.5 mg, macrogol-400 - 762 mg.

Dosage:

Local. The preparation is soaked into sterile gauze pads, which are loosely filled into the wound. It can be introduced into purulent cavities through a catheter (drainage tube) using a syringe. In this case, the ointment is preheated to 35-36°C. Dressings are made daily, once a day, until the wound is completely cleared of purulent-necrotic masses. For large wound surfaces, the daily dose of the ointment in terms of chloramphenicol should not exceed 3 g. The duration of treatment depends on the severity and course of the disease.

Release form: Ointment for external use 40 mg/g+7.5 mg/g. 40 g in aluminum tubes or polyethylene laminate tubes. Each tube together with instructions for medical use of the drug is placed in a cardboard pack.

Storage conditions: store in a cool place.

Shelf life:

3 years 6 months. Do not use the product after the expiration date.
