PROSTATILEN - For Men's Health

PROSTATILENUM®: prostate extract - a substance of polypeptide nature, an extract from the prostate tissue of bulls who have reached puberty. It is included in the composition of drugs that are used to treat prostate diseases. It is produced in the form of suppositories and a lyophilisate for the preparation of a solution for intramuscular administration.

It has an organotropic effect on the human prostate gland. It helps to reduce edema, stagnation of secretions, leukocyte infiltration of the prostate gland, and normalizes the secretory function of epithelial cells. It has an anti-inflammatory effect, has antiaggregatory activity, prevents the formation of venule thrombosis in the prostate gland. In the mid-80s, in the research laboratory of the V.I. SM Kirov, a complex of alkaline peptides - prostate extract was isolated from the prostate gland of cattle. The resulting substance was named "Prostalin".

The extract was recommended for clinical use in 1992 under the trade name Prostatilen. The first manufacturer of the drug was MBNPK "Cytomed" (St. Petersburg). Later, the technical documentation for the drug was transferred to a number of manufacturers in the CIS countries, where it began to be produced under other trade names.

Indications for use:

• chronic prostatitis;
• conditions after surgery on the prostate gland;
• benign prostatic hyperplasia.
