THYMOGEN® cream has a regulatory effect on the reactions of cellular, humoral immunity and non-specific resistance at the site of application (skin). It stimulates regeneration processes in case of their inhibition (for example, with prolonged systemic and local use of glucocorticosteroids). Thymogen cream improves the course of cellular metabolism processes by acting on glutamate metabotropic receptors.

The active substance of Thymogen® is the monosodium salt of L-α-glutamyl-L-tryptophan. This is a synthetic dipeptide consisting of amino acid residues - glutamine and tryptophan. Thymogen is identical to a natural compound isolated by chromatography from an extract of the thymus (thymus gland) - an organ, where maturation, differentiation and immunological "training" of T cells of the immune system take place. Thymogen's international non-proprietary name (INN) is Oglufanidum (oglufanid). Alpha-glutamyl-tryptophan stimulates cellular factors of immunogenesis, proliferation and differentiation of T-lymphocyte precursors into mature immunocompetent cells, normalizes the ratio of T-helpers / T-suppressors, increases the concentration of cyclic adenosine monophosphate in T-lymphocyte precursors. It strengthens nonspecific resistance of the organism, promotes activation of phagocytic functions of neutrophils and monocytes / macrophages; stimulates interferonogenesis and natural killer cell function (in low doses). It possesses anti-mediator properties. It is highly effective for immunodeficiencies of the T-suppressor type.

In case of topically apply, the drug practically does not enter the systemic circulation and does not affect the state of general immunological reactivity. Alpha-glutamyl-tryptophan is cleaved by tissue peptidases into L-glutamic acid and L-tryptophan, which can be used by the body in peptide synthesis.

Usage THYMOGEN CREAM as part of complex therapy:

• atopic dermatitis;
• atopic dermatitis complicated by a secondary bacterial infection;
• chronic eczema, true and microbial;
• chronic pyoderma, incl. chronic diffuse streptoderma;
• mechanical, thermal and chemical injuries of the skin.

Ingredients per 100 g of cream:

Active substance: Thymogen sodium (in terms of Thymogen) - 0.05 g.
Excipients: liquid paraffin 13.0 g, petrolatum 4.0 g, polyoxyethylene sorbitan monostearate (polysorbate 60) 4.0 g, glycerol 3.0 g, sorbitan monostearate 3.0 g, stearyl alcohol 3.0 g, cetyl alcohol 2.0 g, diethylene glycol monoethyl ether 2.0 g, methyl parahydroxybenzoate 0.3 g, napohydroxybenzoate water.

How to use:

The drug is applied in a thin layer to the affected area 1 - 2 times a day (morning and evening). The recommended daily dose is 2 g of cream (1000 mcg of Thymogen). A strip of cream from a tube with a diameter of 5 mm and a length of 4 cm has a mass of 1 g.
The duration of the course is until the local manifestations of the disease subside. The maximum duration of the course is 20 days. After applying the cream, the affected area should not be covered with a bandage.
Keep refrigerated.
