POLYOXIDONIUM 6 mg/ml 5 vials - immunocorrector with anti-inflammatory action
Form of release: Solution for injection and topical use. 5 vials 6 mg/ml.
Preparation is not a traditional medicine.
POLYOXIDONIUM (azoximer bromide) helps suppress the progression of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza, supporting improved well-being from the first day of administration through its activity at viral entry sites and its assistance in eliminating viral toxins.
Polyoxidonium® contains the active substance azoximer bromide, classified as an immunostimulatory agent.
Indications:
Treatment and prevention of acute and chronic respiratory disorders:
- Acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) and influenza
Inflammatory diseases of the oropharynx, paranasal sinuses, upper and lower respiratory tract, as well as the inner and middle ear - Allergic conditions (including hay fever and bronchial asthma) complicated by recurrent bacterial, fungal, and viral infections
- Exacerbations of chronic diseases of the upper respiratory tract, paranasal sinuses, and chronic otitis
Key properties:
- Stimulates early anti-infective immune defense by enhancing the activity of phagocytes, neutrophils, and NK cells, helping the body respond more effectively to viral infections.
- Provides detoxifying support by binding and assisting in the removal of toxins and inflammatory by-products, helping reduce symptoms of viral intoxication.
- When used topically, it acts directly on mucosal surfaces at the site of infection, activating local immune protection and helping prevent further viral spread.
- Supports regulation of inflammatory responses by balancing pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokine production.
- Does not cause local irritation and is generally well tolerated.
- Included in the updated 2025 clinical recommendations of the Russian Ministry of Health for the treatment of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza in adults.
- Included in the list of vital and essential medicinal products.
- Sublingual tablets act directly on mucosal membranes at the primary site of viral penetration.
Action:
- Polyoxidonium® stimulates immune system activity and promotes the production of endogenous interferons — proteins naturally synthesized by the body in response to viruses and other pathogens — helping increase resistance to viral and bacterial infections.
- Polyoxidonium® binds soluble toxic compounds and microparticles, supports the elimination of toxins and heavy metal salts, and inhibits lipid peroxidation.
- Polyoxidonium® helps maintain the balance between pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory immune responses.
Composition:
Active ingredient: azoximer bromide - 6 mg/ml;
Other excipients: mannitol, povidone, water for injection.
