POLYOXIDONIUM 12 mg 10 suppositories - immunocorrector with anti-inflammatory action

POLYOXIDONIUM (azoximer bromide) is an immunomodulatory agent with antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal properties. It is intended for the prevention and treatment of infectious and inflammatory conditions caused by bacterial, viral, or fungal pathogens. Areas of application include immunology, infectious diseases, acute respiratory infections, phthisiology, oncology, tuberculosis, rheumatology, surgery, gynecology, and urology.

Action:

• Helps normalize local immune markers (IFN status, IL-1β/TNF, sIgA, NK cells, and phagocytic activity) to support elimination of HPV and related infections.

Indications for use:

FOR TREATMENT IN ADULTS (IN COMBINATION WITH OTHER PREPARATIONS):

• Acute and recurrent chronic infectious and inflammatory diseases of various localizations caused by bacterial, viral, or fungal infections;
• Inflammatory disorders of the urogenital system (urethritis, cystitis, pyelonephritis, prostatitis, salpingo-oophoritis, endomyometritis, colpitis, cervicitis, cervicosis, bacterial vaginosis);
• Various forms of pulmonary tuberculosis;
• Allergic diseases (including hay fever, bronchial asthma, and atopic dermatitis) complicated by recurrent bacterial, fungal, or viral infections;
• Rheumatoid arthritis complicated by recurrent infectious conditions during prolonged immunosuppressive therapy;
• Support of regenerative processes (fractures, burns, trophic ulcers);
• As part of combination therapy in oncology during chemotherapy and radiation therapy to help reduce toxic effects on the kidneys and liver.

FOR PREVENTION IN ADULTS (AS MONOTHERAPY):

• Recurrent herpes and urogenital infections;
• Exacerbation of chronic infectious diseases;
• Influenza and other acute respiratory viral infections during pre-epidemic and epidemic seasons in individuals at increased risk of infection;
• Secondary immunodeficiency conditions associated with aging or adverse environmental factors.

Mechanism of action:

Recommended treatment regimens:

COMBINATION THERAPY WITH OTHER PREPARATIONS

• For acute and chronic infectious-inflammatory diseases: once daily for 3 days, followed by administration every other day. Treatment course: 10 suppositories.
• For gynecological conditions: once daily for 3 days, then every other day. Treatment course: 10 suppositories.
• For acute urological disorders (urethritis, pyelonephritis, cystitis) and prostatitis in adults: once daily. Treatment course: 10 suppositories.
• For allergic diseases complicated by infectious syndrome: once daily. Treatment course: 10 suppositories.
• For acute infections and stimulation of tissue regeneration (fractures, burns, trophic ulcers): once daily. Treatment course: 10 suppositories.
• For rheumatoid arthritis: 1 suppository every other day. Treatment course: 10 suppositories.
• For combination therapy in oncology during chemotherapy and radiation treatment: 12 mg daily starting 2–3 days before chemotherapy or radiation therapy, then 12 mg twice weekly for up to 20 suppositories.
• For pulmonary tuberculosis: 1 suppository daily for 3 days, then every other day. Treatment course: 20 suppositories. Maintenance therapy may follow using 6 mg suppositories twice weekly for up to 2–3 months.

AS MONOTHERAPY

• Prevention of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections: once daily. Treatment course: 10 suppositories.
• Prevention of age-related secondary immunodeficiency: twice weekly. Treatment course: 10 suppositories, repeated 2–3 times per year.
• Prevention of recurrent chronic infections and recurrent urogenital herpes infections: 1 suppository every other day. Treatment course: 10 suppositories.

Dosage form:
