Complex L-ARGININE & MINERALS POWDER in the prevention of diseases of the oral cavity.
Caries and dentine hypersensitivity are common dental diseases. L-Arginine is present in saliva as a nutraceutical and metabolite. Clinical trials have shown the important role of arginine in the treatment and prevention of tooth decay and hypersensitivity, as well as benefits in tooth remineralization and overall oral health. The L-Arginine & Minerals complex has been developed, consisting of L-arginine and mineral supplements.
Arginine against caries:
Dental caries is a multifactorial disease with a complex etiology, with the formation of acids from dietary sugars and carbohydrates at the interface between the receptive tooth surface and plaque. Root surface exposure and gingival recession (reduction in soft tissue volume) act as an additional or secondary factor for the cariogenic process. Dental plaque is a complex biofilm, structured and spatially organized, consisting of a metabolically integrated community of bacteria that interact and communicate through gene transfer and the secretion of signaling molecules. In general, individual types of microorganisms in the community are interdependent, which increases the efficiency of metabolism, stress resistance and virulence compared to planktonic microbes, i.e., free-swimming in the environment, and not forming biofilms. A marked change in the environment can cause a transition from healthy to pathogenic plaque biofilm, predisposing to the onset of a carious process. To reduce the risk of caries, more attention is being paid to remodeling the structure of the tooth by reducing its susceptibility to disease. Thus, likely ways to prevent caries damage include:
- Decreased total biofilm mass
- Inhibition or reduction of bacterial acid production
- Maintaining microbial homeostasis and providing an environmental balance that favors healthy microorganisms in plaque.
Since the publication of Kleinberg's early work on the physiological effects of ammonia on caries and health, major discoveries have been made. The loss of urease activity due to a decrease in the alkaline-forming potential of harmful bacteria in plaque has a positive effect on caries. Clinical studies have shown that ADS-formed ammonia from external salivary arginine contributes to caries suppression, and supplementation of this amino acid has a profound effect on healthy teeth as well as teeth with active caries.
Arginine and hypersensitivity:
Dentinal hypersensitivity is one of the most common diseases among dental patients and is characterized by short, sharp pain in exposed dentin in response to stimuli that cannot be attributed to any other dental defect or disease, making diagnosis difficult for the dentist. At the stage of tooth development, dentin is formed from odontoblasts containing thousands of tubules running perpendicular to the pulp chamber. This makes dentin different from other mineralized tissues of the tooth. During dentin synthesis, odontoblasts migrate from the dentin-enamel junction and dentinal tubules form. Dentinal tubules are composed of odontoblasts and dentinal fluid. Dentin is sensitive due to open tubules. Gingival recession due to abrasion or periodontal disease and acid erosion are major factors in the exposure of dentinal tubules. The treatment plan for tooth sensitivity is based on either tubular occlusion (blockage) or interference with nerve transmission. Many occlusive agents, such as fluoride varnish and prescription fluoride toothpastes and gels, physically block open dentinal tubules, preventing movement of dentinal fluid caused by external stimuli, ultimately blocking the pain impulse.
Names: S-Arginine, Arg, R, S-2-amino-5-guanidinopentanoic acid, L-2-amino-5-guanidinovaleric acid; CH2CH2CH2NHC(=NH)NH2
Form: powder
Quantity: 25g
How to use:
- apply the powder after brushing your teeth before going to bed and leave overnight (allowable for swallowing);
- brushing teeth with powder with a soft brush;
- addition to toothpaste.
Benefits: The developed L-Arginine & Minerals complex includes L-arginine and mineral supplements (calcium, magnesium and zinc). This complex is safe and can be used for caries prevention, hypersensitivity and whitening, as well as maintaining oral health.
Contraindications: pregnancy, lactation, individual intolerance
Shelf life: 24 months
Storage: at a temperature not exceeding 25°C
Composition (in 1g of the complex):
- L-Arginine - 10mg
- Calcium carbonate - 750mg
- Magnesium citrate - 200 mg
- Zinc lactate - 40 mg
Dosage: L-Arginine has long been used as a dietary supplement, both individually and as part of compositions. The evidence for the safety of arginine and the absence of adverse effects is compelling in normal healthy adults at up to 20 g/day of the amino acid by mouth, which is much higher than the estimated intake of arginine used for dental purposes.
Arginine is an aliphatic basic α-amino acid. Optically active, exists in the form of L- and D-isomers. L-Arginine is a component of peptides and proteins; the content of arginine is especially high in the main proteins - histones and protamines.
